Thanks for the comment. I have never advocated destroying the planet, we have already done that. If people would have understood the climate crisis decades ago we would have not disturbed the planet as we have. My point is that it is better to accept the reality and find solutions for the real problem, not to waste time on solutions that we already know don't work.

This acceptance would allow us to drastically change our priorities, especially regarding energy use and pollution. This would also mean reducing our tech imprint instead of increasing it and choosing only very essential infrastructure. War and economies based on consumerism and greed are the last things that we should be doing now.

It is precisely because I care not just about my kids, but all of them that I try to spread the word about our climate crisis. The media has never properly informed the public so most people believe what they are told by the experts that the media and the status quo chooses.

The systems of the Earth have already started a trend that will be extremely difficult to reverse. The extreme heating of the Arctic compared to the middle latitudes has caused an imbalance that is affecting all the atmospheric and oceanic currents. effectively disturbing the normal transfer of heat from the equator to the poles.

The extreme heating of the Arctic is causing a fast retreat of the ice in the area, reducing the albedo effect (the amount of light reflected into space to balance Earth's temperature) and the melting of the permafrost which allows the escape of methane and CO2 trapped underneath into the atmosphere.

The status quo experts can tell you that all will be fine if we recycle, use electric cars and promote renewable energy. The climate problem is much more complicated than what the media tells you, As my article explained, the solutions proposed create more problems while not making a dent to reverse the disturbance of the planet's systems.

Is it possible to care about the state of the planet for our survival and not question the huge increase in the Pentagon's budget? No The majority of the people don't question it because they believe that the solutions for our climate crisis are easy. For me, spending energy, money and creating pollution for something destructive like war is not logical under the current circumstances.

People were told that emissions had been reduced during the lockdowns which led people to believe that reducing a bit of travel was enough. They never told people that reducing emissions from one source while increasing the reliance on tech use and data services did not constitute a reduction in emissions. They never said either that the emissions also continued growing due to the melting of the permafrost.

We have a choice: we can continue believing that the status quo solutions will work without changing our priorities, or we accept the direness of the situation, change our priorities and get together to try to help each other, face the reality and deal with the increasing threats that the climate will represent for our survival.
